THE OBSERVERS

The play The Observers is inspired as a replica of the famous statement of one of F. Dostoyevsky's characters that if there is no God, everything is allowed. Konstantin Iliev’s treatment of the problem – as much ironic, as it is serious - denies the presumption of impunity, but implies in as an opinion that the mechanism of retribution is far from the ideas of both believers and atheists. In the course of the dramatic action, Fyodor Dostoyevsky himself is among the stage characters together with more or less known names from Bulgarian and world history: Dimitar Obshty and Hadzhy Stanio Vrabevski to Sergey Nechayev and Immanuel Kant.
